I noticed during the VMAs how much this Jo Calderone’ character looks like Ratigan from The Great Mouse Detective. Way to go GaGa.
Please, no longer compare me to that androgynous hack. This… woman is a cheap imitation of the real thing.

Speaking of amazing movies, here’s the intense final battle in The Great Mouse Detective.

I sketched a lot this summer - really, a lot. I filled up a whole sketchbook over a few months, and here’s one page from it. One morning I woke up extremely early for no reason. I couldn’t get back to sleep so I put on The Great Mouse Detective (videocassette :D) and frame by framed some Ratigan, drawing some of the more interesting poses. No tracing here. Just an hour or two drawing this delightfully appealing character. It was really fun. I especially put a lot of focus on the drawing on the top right - if you’re a fan of the movie you’ll know that’s Ratigan’s fireplace portrait. Really, this was my first time drawing him, but I learned a good deal about his construction. If you’re interested in character animation, watch the Great Mouse Detective if you haven’t already. It’s a humble little film, but the animation is fantastically expressive - I just love it! Plus Vincent Price never hurts…
I really must say, my dear, that you have taken a dashing individual and created, if possible, an even more dashing rendition. I shall hire you to create my official portrait, when the time arises and I am the Supreme Ruler of all Mousedom!
